The former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham, has yet again proved her love for bags by splashing out $40,000 for a Hermés Birkin burgundy bag. With the latest addition to her bag collection, the 35-year-old style icon has added over 30 Birkin bags worth $1.5 million. Considering the fact that these investments will grow in price in years to come also goes on to prove why Posh won the Entrepreneur of the Year award back in 2007.

Sex and the City star, Sarah Jessica Parker is rumored to be designing a line for the Halston Heritage collection. The collection will be significantly less expensive than the main lines and will hopefully boost the company’s popularity and bring back the esteem Halston held in the 70s.  Halston has yet to comment on any future business deals with Sarah, but will have an announcement by the end of the week.

Over-night super star Lady Gaga has become a fashion icon (good or bad) on top of her successful music career.  In my opinion, the two go hand in hand. Talent is in excess all over the world; how do some people stand out and peak on Billboard’s top 100 List? Walking down the street, do you remember the lady in the black trench or the crazy person with horizontal rainbow striped leggings, a yellow shirt and red leather vest, crowned with a cowboy hat? Obviously, option two.  Lady Gaga took this concept, ran with it and climbed her way to stardom.

Not everyone can embrace her personal style, and some have made a public issue of it. 29-year-old designer Mark Fast has even declined to let her wear his clothes, referring to her as “fast food fashion”.  Comparing careers, I’d say Lady Gaga has the better idea. Lady Gaga, household name, Mark Fast, not so much.

Karl by aleXsandro Palombo 4Perhaps best known for the ruckus he caused after juxtaposing Anne Frank’s face with a certain expletive on a T-shirt dress in his Fall 2006 collection, aleXsandro Palombo is a proudly controversial, fashion-focused Italian artist. And his cheeky-chic endeavors aren’t restricted to the runway. In 2010, Palombo will make a stir with the release his second collection of sharp-witted fashion cartoons. Titled Humor Chic, the book cimples images and graphic novels, each of which feature satirical caricatures of fashion’s obsession with celebrity, politics and, of course, itself.

The Russian billionaire Roman Abromavich has purchased a luxurious Caribbean estate, in one of the most expensive private home sales of all time. With an $89 million sale price, the property is described as a Balinese-style bungalow with ocean views, tennis courts, swimming pools, music and dining pavilions. However, the former owner insists it remains a naturally beautiful venue: ‘“It’s very open bungalows, and it’s like you’re basically living on a beach. It’s not like a lot of things you might see on St. Bart’s which are kind of fancy.” This appears to be in reference to the illustrious reputation that the island of St. Barts is known for as a popular vacation spot for celebrities and millionaires.

Donald TrumpIt has been less than a week since the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office released a statement claiming that Donald Trump could be the victim of a $5m fraudulent deal with Hudson Waterfront Associates.  The deal said to be worth a record $1.76 bn included a $17m ‘finders fee’.   Trump who has a one third share in the property was defrauded by including the finders fee in the transaction as a method of “cutting him in” prosecutors said.

Meanwhile, more bad news for Trump spilled through the press today regarding the planned and controversial development of a golf resort in Scotland.  Donald Trump Jnr revised offers for land owners reluctant to vacate to include lifetime access to the resort, a 15% premium above their top end valuations and the possibility of purchasing a newly constructed villa at cost price.   Local residents have resisted the offers for a second time.  As a last resort, Trump may have to seek a compulsory purchase order – a long and difficult process experts say.
