Ashtanga yoga masters David Swenson and Shelley Washington have been summoned to Maui by the Four Seasons Resort to coach and practice their mastered craft. Each well renowned in the yoga community, they will be tutoring attendees with the original poses and philosophies personally acquired from Ashtanga master K. Pattabhi Jois.
Shelley Washington, originally a professional dancer, found her love of Ashtanga yoga and immediately re-directed her passions, leading her to Mysore, India to study under master K. Pattabhi Jois.
Partnering her in the Four Seasons endeavor, David Swenson, has practiced yoga since age 13, and at 16, was introduced to the Ashtanga practice under K. Pattabhi Jois himself. With a bestselling book, Ashtanga Yoga: The Practice Manual, and his series of five DVDs, this team is ideal for the most serious of yoga practitioners.
Priced at $4,500 per attendee, the package includes Five nights in the luxe Four Seasons Resort, four morning classes, three afternoon classes, a daily “Talk Yoga” seminar in the Yoga Retreat Hospitality Lounge, and a final reception and group dinner. Designer of ‘Naked Garden’ at the Anglican Home Improvements exhibit, David Domoney, grew the $637 salad contents soil-free in Holland. The lettuce and tomatoes were grown in clear containers with a special water solution and a revolutionary “technology of aquatic culture that creates plants with exposed roots”, explained David. The exhibit boasts many different kinds of specially grown plants that carry astounding price tags, for example the $479 dollar lettuce. When asked about the Duchess of Cornwall’s reaction to the plant show and world’s most expensive salad, he responded saying “Camilla was thrilled to see all the plants on display which are incredibly expensive because they are grown hydroponically. They are grown without soil and water and nutrients are sprayed direct to the roots. But this also means that the plants on display are all kept alive right till the point they are put in the salad so this is the freshest green salad you will ever eat.”

Last year, Kalamazoo Gourmet introduced InsideLux to the first Outdoor Pizza Oven, this year they have contacted us with an even better tool in luxury entertaining, geared at making outdoor cuisine enjoyment as convenient as in your own kitchen. Transporting dirty dishes, grill tools, utensils and glasses can be daunting at the end of a meal enjoyed outdoors. Balancing act clean up can be dangerous for glassware… and messy; risking the possibility of spilling left over bbq sauce while cautiously stepping through the patio doors. Engineers at Kalamazoo have put all those fears to rest with the invention of their first outdoor dishwasher. Able to withstand all weather complications, and designed with an adjustable-height dual rack system, not only is the appliance aesthetically pleasing, but it excels in all utility needs, delivering maximum efficiency.
No outdoor sink? No problem. Nozzles with optimal power are strategically placed and focused on pre-rinsing pans and utensils, while sensors linked with the selected wash program ensure the appropriate amount of water is being used in each cycle. Using as little as 3.8 gallons of water per wash, this dishwasher system was created with not only quality design and the finest use of space, but also uses the latest in water-saving, green technology that will keep your bills low and conscious guilt-free.
Priced at $4,990, it is the first outdoor dishwasher designed to cover all needs for outdoor protection, green technology, and best use of space.
You would not expect a company as prestigiously known as Louis XIII by Rémy Martin to generously share their award winning, royally devoured, top-priced cognac with the world. But in celebration of their ever-growing and fascinating history, they have decided to launch a Virtual World Tour. Sending out decanters to top experts, located all over the globe, Louis XIII by Rémy Martin has requested these individuals to taste the acclaimed product and offer a first-hand review, creating the greatest cognac world tour ever. Going above and beyond, proving they genuinely care about the quality of the creation distributed at such high prices, Rémy Martin will without a doubt excel beyond the passionate expectations of the original Martin family values.
Liquor companies have come and gone for hundreds of years, but one historically valued cognac has held steady in its ever-increasing quality reputation. The House of Rémy Martin began perfecting cognac 150 years prior to branding Louis XIII Cognac. With true passion for family and creating the perfect blend, Rémy Martin passed his knowledge and innovative spirit to his son Paul-Émile Rémy Martin. When Paul-Émile decided to brand his family multi-generational life’s work, he chose to pay homage to French King Louis XIII, birthing Louis XIII by Rémy Martin. Not only are the 1,200 eaux-de-vie mixed cognacs famous in their own right, but the decanter encasing the creation bears a timeless quality as well. A flask found on the battlefield of Jarnac was replicated and used as the decanter for each bottle sold. Pricings today reflect the thoughtful process instilled in each individual bottle, generally costing around $3,000 per 750mL decanter.
