Critically acclaimed designer Marloes ten Bhömer is launching her first commercially available shoe this month in London.
The designer is best known for her couture shoe collections, which feature many imaginatively constructed pieces. Almost more a work of art than a fashion statement, her latest creation brings something different to the market.
This is the ‘Beigefoldedshoe’, a shoe made entirely from a single piece of folded leather, with a stainless steel heel. This new design stems from one of her visionary footwear concepts, transformed into a wearable shoe through two years of design and engineering development.
The shoes are handmade in the UK, and cost £2,250 (approximately $3,716).

Jimmy Choo’s fall/winter 2009 ad campaign is out, featuring Angela Lindvall looking suitably sexed-up with tousled hair, come-to-bed eyes and plenty of leather.
The label is tapping into the jungle and animal print trend of the season, with coloured leopard print and snakeskin prevalent throughout the collection.
Leather is huge for Choo this season, whether it’s patent leather killer heels or over-the-knee boots. Think rock chick meets biker babe.
