As if trying to uncover the magic behind Kate Moss’ legendary ability to produce a beautiful ad campaign and the mental journey of each project, photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, used the fall/winter 2010/2011 Balmain shoot to secretly place video cameras on set. With footage captured, the pair created a 3:17 second short film, enhancing the visual grace and movement of Kate, with artist Jo Ratcliffe’s illustrations.

As every muscle moves strategically frame after frame, a series of unsettling, yet enticing, snakes weave in and around her body, leaving the viewer mesmerized with the film’s direction. “We are fascinated with the different realities going on in one shoot and so the music, animation, Kate’s movement and the camera angle represent these layers of perception..” commented Van Lamsweerde on his motivation for creating the emotionally captivating tell-all.

His layers of reality come to public view through the whimsical horror and seemingly soft evil phenomenon produced by a job, general audiences would presume effortless and shallow. Adorned with co-stars usually used as symbolism for evil, the snakes are illustrated in a child-like manner giving them innocence, while creating the different reality the photographers strived to represent. This 3:17 video shed a new light on the artistic efforts that go into producing a high fashion ad campaign, while taking an interesting leap into to the minds of the world’s top photographers.

Among all the “palaces” in the famous 90210, one in particular, jumps off the block with it’s custom design. Ron Dayan of Piccadilly Designs has out-done his 25 years of design experience with Beverly Hill’s own livable art form. To call this home a “house” would be an insult to the entire interior design world. From the inside out, no detail was left as an after-thought or unplanned add-on. The ethereal gardens, grand indoor columns and blending of masculine and feminine touches make this home perfectly livable for anyone with high levels of taste.

The sleek hardware and smooth appliances in the kitchens and bathrooms modernize the home and balance the opulence of the drapes, chandeliers, and spiral staircases while the open design and 360 degree views remind the inhabitants of the outdoor beauty beyond their custom home. While every room offers something different, Ron had real living space in mind while designing an entertainment room with black leather chairs, complete with cup holders atop a chic cheetah carpet. This recent home is unquestionably breathtaking with every crevice of the property holding a unique and interesting element, making this one of Ron’s most beautiful endeavors to date.
