Do any of you fabulous luxury readers have an iPad? It’s been about two months since the item’s release, and one of the most troubling aspects owners are having to face is this: How do you carry around this flat, slightly inconvenient, 9.7-inch, 1.5-pound thing?
Some owners are getting creative, with WSJ reporting on a man who bought a specially designed vest to carry his around. But the vest, which looks more like something you’d wear on a weekend fishing trip than to the office, is impractical for the fashion-forward elite. More L.L. Bean than Geoffrey Beene.
Don’t fret, though. Louis Vuitton and Gucci have come to the rescue.
LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton was the first high-end luxury company to release an iPad case, priced at $320. And now, Gucci will be releasing a slightly cheaper monogrammed version, available in beige, black, and brown, for $230. The case comes in leather or neoprene rubber, and is lined with suede to keep your iPad clean and scratch-free.
The item, designed by creative director Frida Giannini, will be available at Gucci stores in major cities starting June 15. If you want to be ahead of the curve though, you can order pre-sale starting tomorrow, June 7, on their web site.
