Net-a-porter, a leading online women’s retailer was bought out Wednesday for a speculated 362 million pounds by a global luxury goods conglomerate, Richemont. Net-a-porter was created by a fashion journalist Natalie Massenet and houses 600 employees in London and New York. Pre-sale, Richemont owned one third of the company which turned over 120 million pounds last year, and upped their stake to 93 per cent in this weeks sale. Massenet plans to work closely with the company and strive to “build the 21st century model for luxury fashion retailing”.
