French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier presented his first haute couture show in Russia on Friday. The show was held against the backdrop of the Kazansky railway terminal, something Gaultier called a dream come true. He said he had envisioned holding his show in the Gare de Lyon, a restaurant in the station.
The station provided a complementary setting for Gaultier’s ornate designs. The models walked down the runway in feathers, embroidery, and abundant velvet, with some sporting whimsical hairstyles. One model, above, even donned triangular-style braids.
