London’s elite property, the St. James’s Hotel and Club has just been listed for a cool $88.6 million dollars. Placed on the market by the Landesberg and Rosenberg families and currently part of the Althoff group of hotels, the building was purchased for $29.5 million dollars five years ago and has undergone extensive renovations.
The majestic townhouse features black lacquered furniture, handcrafted Murano glass chandeliers, hand-made silk wall-paper and mattresses made from Hypnos. The London Times reports that property may be acquired by Britannia Hospotality, which recently also bought the Stafford Hotel.
Past members of the private St. James Club have included Michael Caine and Liza Minnelli.
