As Tag Heuer marks its 150th anniversary, the Swiss luxury watchmaker has launched a limited-edition chest containing a limited-edition Tag Heuer watch, the Grand Carrera Calibre 17 RS2 Chronograph and the company’s first branded phone the Meridiist.

Unveiled at the just ended Baselworld 2010 in Switzerland, the celebratory gift box was designed by French master craftsman Fred Pinel and will be limited to just 150 units, each for the number of years the company has existed.

Priced at $20,000; the celebratory “coffret” will be available for fans in the UAE as early as the first week of April.

This Ladyhawke Tourbillion timepiece is the brainchild of Boucheron and Girard-Perregaux who joined forces in 2007.  The Ladyhawke Tourbillion’s design is a falcon clutching a watch powered by the Tourbillon which comes with three gold Bridges.  The Tourbillon itself consists of 72 components for a diameter of one centimeter and a total weight of 0.3 gram, and is entirely hand-decorated and assembled. Boasting of a 72 hour power reserve, this exquisite creation features an articulated bracelet with an invisible clasp mechanism.

The stunning timepiece is made from gold and is adorned with yellow, pink, white diamonds and rubies totaling 25carats and is described by it’s creators as “the embodiment of High Jewellery and High Watchmaking”.

Designer Philip Plein made a statement with his latest collection of luxurious Gold furniture. Tiger economies, Dragon economies and now we have Pig economies (Portugal, Italy and Greece).  Greece facing a close to economical collapse has come under immense pressure to sell off its prized assets which include some of its famous islands.  With a German bailout on the cards, the German press playfully ran headlines to the tune that German’s would “buy” a piece of Greece, but in reality only private investors will have the chance to snap up one of the islands.  One of the Onasis islands is currently up for sale at $300m, potential buyers include Bill Gates and Madonna, but this is just one of 600 or so that could be sold.  Brokers suggest a figure closer to $2m for a small sized island with potential to build a holiday complex or at least an extravagant villa.

Hermes and Wally joined forces to make the widest super yacht that looks more like a floating island.  With over 3,000 square metres of spacious luxury, the yacht represents a modern mansion where panoramic sea views are present from all bedrooms.   An atrium with live plants adds  homely feel when seas get rough but perhaps the most astonishing accomplishment is the indoor 25 meter swimming pool.

The roof is covered with solar pannels that its makers suggest could save as much as 200 tonnes of disel per year.

The boat will be the first yacht that Hermes will fit out, while Wally will provide power and deal with the technicalities.

At almost $30m the Brazilian jet maker has launched  a new version of its famous 600 version.  With a range of 3,900 nautical miles, the jet can seat up to 8 passengers and can fly more than 500 nautical miles than its 600 predecessor.  The new Rolls-Royce AE 3007A2 engines grant the Legacy powerful jet power while reducing noise.

Deliveries for the Legacy 650 start later this month.
