wispa most expensive chocolate bar 468x311 Facebook help launch world’s most expensive Chocolate Bar

Since its invention the internet has always been described as a space where true public opinion and uninhibited public discussion takes place and it looks like the people have finally spoken. Thanks to a massive campaign on Facebook by a group called “Bring back Cadbury’s Wispa Gold”, it looks like Cadbury have caved in to pressure to bring back the chocolate bar. To commemorate its relaunch the company have introduced a special edition gold-coated Cadbury’s Wispa chocolate bar which is said to be the most expensive chocolate bar in the world with a price tag of £961.48 ($1,630). The bar’s eye-catching price is said to be the precise value of its weight in gold.

Not sure how many people will buy the special edition bar with its price tag but I’m sure all 22,000 members of the Facebook campaign group are eagerly awaiting the cheaper version priced at 55pence set to hit stores in September.

The special edition bar is currently on sale at Selfridges.

Real whisky connoisseurs know the quality is in the age and Glenfiddich’s 50-year-old old bottle not only has quality it is also the second oldest, rarest and most expensive whiskey ever made. It is second to Glenfiddich’s 64-year-old whiskey released in 2001 and sold for £10,000 ($16,000). per bottle; till this day it is the oldest single malt produced ever introduced.

This rare 50-year-old Glenfiddich whisky was drawn from two casks and left to mature for 50 years in the darkness and chill of Banffshire distillery’s warehouse 8. Before bottling, the two casks were married for six months in an American oak barrel giving it an unrivalled array of flavours and aromas.

Peter Grant Gordon, head of The Glenfiddich Distillery described the Glenfiddich 50 year old as ‘the darkest Glenfiddich whisky with an astonishing taste; it has a well-balanced nose with a pleasantly sweet woody aroma’.

breguet louvre Breguet Timepiece Exhibit At The Louvre In Paris

Do you remember when you finally got old enough to appreciate the things you saw in museums? Sometime around min teenager-hood I began to appreciate that the reason items were in museums were often that they were pretty nicely done. Problem was that most of that stuff was really old – not something you can buy today. No one still making bronze age battle swords. The message is that museums are mostly about appreciating beautiful things that are no longer around – which is why they are in a museum right? There are of course, exceptions to the rule.
