French brand Louis Vuitton has marked today’s anniversary of Apollo 11’s first lunar landing with the creation of the custom-made Malle Mars. Shaped like a 50s-era sci-fi rocket ship it is translated from French as “Mars trunk”.
The space age piece opens to reveal shelves, drawers and compartments for storing jewellery, perfumes and medicines, as well as a wide selection of other LV goodies. It goes on display today alongside other NASA memorabilia at the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
