With the recent opening of their new LA hotspot, Ian Shepp Gianni Capaldi and Brad Hoss are serving young Hollywood with a certain… je ne sais qua.
Inspired by the old school elegance of the Moulin Rouge, Madame Royale’s style combines 1920’s French glamour with a sort of chic grunge twist if that’s possible. The interior features brick walls, marble and dark wood and is illuminated by antique lighting fixtures dating back to a 19th century style. Towards the back of the lounge you can also find a more private patio set up with its own bar, leather couches and fire place set within the bounding frame of an enchanting iron balcony.
With the purpose of generating a relaxed atmosphere and bringing back the personality that was once so popular and unique to bars such as The Viper Room, Madame Royale will host live band sets and intimate jazz sessions whilst, according to Shepp, offering drinks (the lounge has an old school absinthe menu) “…bring things back to where it was before places started price-gouging the consumer. So far, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.”
